HAMPSTEAD – Pender County Parks and Recreation is celebrating the most wonderful time of the year and kicking off the holiday season with the 3rd Annual Tree Lighting ceremony at Hampstead Kiwanis Park on Friday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m. A local choir and soloists will lead the holiday music at 5:45 p.m.
The Hampstead Tree Lighting is a festive celebration that ushers in the holiday season with captivating lights, music, and community spirit. The Hampstead community gathers to spread joy and happiness with food trucks, a chance of real snow, and festive activities, creating cherished memories and setting the tone for the holiday season.
"This has become an annual holiday tradition that the community looks forward to kicking off the holiday season each year," Zach White, Pender County Parks and Recreation director, said.
As part of the celebration, the Pender County Parks and Recreation Department, Pender County Tourism, and Pender County Library will host children's activities, including cookies, storytelling, photos with Santa, crafts, and a community carol sing-along.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
Food trucks are available with food and hot chocolate for purchase.
