Get To Know Your Neighbor: Surf City BBQ

Rebecca Royal and her husband Guy run one of the most popular BBQ restaurants around.

Surf City BBQ has been a fixture in the Topsail area since May of 2013. Their first location was on the island next to Domino’s Pizza. After outgrowing that location, they took over their current spot at 15300 Hwy 50 in Surf City, in the Surf City Gateway Plaza shopping center next to Sherwin William’s Paint and Tommy J’s Jewelry.

A family run business, Rebecca and her husband work alongside her son and sister, but consider their staff family too.

The restaurant, which is open year round, does close in the winter (Thanksgiving to mid-December) for a well-deserved break.

Their menu includes whole hog, eastern NC, vinegar based, cleaver chopped, barbeque prepared by Guy himself. Prime Rib, Chicken (fried, applewood smoked or smothered), pork ribs, Catfish, Flounder, Shrimp, Pork loin, Brunswick Stew, fresh sides and delicious deserts are available daily.

The business can accommodate large groups and offers catering for all your special events.

Closed on Sunday and Mondays, the restaurant opens at 11am Tuesday through Saturday and serves lunch and dinner.
