The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Jacksonville man on
multiple felony charges following a high-speed pursuit related to a stolen firearm.
Around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, deputies received a BOLO alert for a silver BMW connected to a warrant for 25-year-old Raymond Novak. Novak was wanted in
connection with the theft of a firearm from Hollywood Pawn and Jewelry in Jacksonville earlier
that day.
Deputies spotted Novak driving the BMW near Ramsey Road and attempted a traffic stop. Novak did not stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit, reaching speeds of 110-115 mph. The chase ended when the BMW ran off the road near Ramsey Road and W T Whitehead Drive.
A 17-year-old passenger exited the BMW and fled into a wooded area near the neighborhood of Carolina Plantation. Novak remained in the BMW before deputies took him into custody.
At that time, deputies set up a perimeter around the neighborhood, taking the juvenile into custody shortly after.
Deputies were able to recover the stolen firearm, along with another firearm registered to Novak, around 32 grams of suspected fentanyl, 13 grams of crack cocaine, and nine oxycodone pills from the BMW.
Raymond Novak, 25, of 1029 Ramsey Road in Jacksonville, is charged with

• Possession of a Stolen Firearm
• DWLR/Limited Driving Privileges (x2)
• Flee/Elude Arrest with Motor Vehicle
• Speeding
• Fictitious Title/Registration Card/Tag
• Reckless Driving/Disregard
• Fail Maintain Lane Control
Novak was placed under a $32,000 secured bond and is in the Onslow County Detention Center awaiting his next court date on March 12, 2025.
Charges are pending for the narcotics found, along with federal charges with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
