Pender County's New District 1 Commissioner

By Joshua Smith

Chairman, Pender County GOP

In accordance with the governing rules of the NC Republican Party and the North Carolina General Assembly G.S. 153A-27.1, the Executive Committee of the Pender County Republican party met for a properly called meeting of its Executive Committee at 6:00pm on Monday February 13th, in the Pender County Commissioners chambers on Walker Street in Burgaw NC.

The meeting was called to select a candidate to fill the unexpired term of Pender County District 1 Commissioner Dr. Jimmy Tate. The Executive Committee would like to thank the five citizens who offered themselves for consideration to fill this vacant seat

After reading the candidate’s resumes and their reasons for wanting to serve, in advance, the Executive Committee offered each candidate an opportunity to speak to the Committee at the meeting. It was obvious that each candidate was worthy of consideration. Ultimately, the committee could only choose one.

The Executive Committee of the Pender County Republican Party will forward the name of Brad George to the Pender County Commissioners for their consideration in filling the District 1 vacant seat on the Pender County Board of Commissioner.

Congratulations Brad George.

Again, thank you to the other candidates that stepped up and offered their service for our county. Brad George is the Pender County GOP Executive Committee candidate we have nominated to fill the vacant District 1 Commissioner seat. We are confident Mr. George will do an outstanding job in this new position. Mr. George has 100% support from the Pender County GOP and we thank him for his willingness to continue to serve our great county.

Below is a brief bio of Brad George's background, which he included in his letter of interest to the GOP for the District 1 commissioner seat.
