As the tourism assistant and creative director of The Ghostwalk of Pender's Past, Key has played a crucial role in promoting the county's rich heritage, natural beauty, and dynamic community events. Her innovative marketing strategies and dedication to enhancing the visitor experience have significantly boosted tourism in Pender County.
Beyond her professional achievements, Key is actively engaged in numerous community initiatives and organizations, showcasing her strong commitment to positively impacting the community. Her leadership and passion for community service have made her a standout among her peers.
In addition to this recognition, Key was honored as a finalist in the Public Sector category of WILMA's 2024 Women to Watch Awards. This award celebrates regional women who are influential, disruptive, and inspirational leaders. Thirty-five women are selected as finalists each year and features them in the fall issue of WILMA, digitally on WILMAmag.com, and across WILMA's social media platforms. Winners are announced at the annual Women to Watch Awards event, which will be held on September 6 at the Wilmington Convention Center.
